"Trigueros ya cuenta con uno de sus atractivos urbanos más esperados, el Monumento en Honor a las Fiestas de San Antonio Abad, patrón de la localidad, que fue inaugurado por el Ayuntamiento este viernes 4 de noviembre en la Plaza de España del municipio.
En el acto de inauguración de este monumento han estado presentes el alcalde de Trigueros, Cristóbal Romero, y el escultor Martín Lagares, que ha sido el encargado de ejecutar este monumento, así como la Escuela de Tamborileros de Trigueros.
Con esta actuación el Ayuntamiento de Trigueros pone en valor una de las grandes citas festivas y culturales de Andalucía, ya que estas fiestas patronales reúnen a miles de personas para acompañar a San Antonio Abad y participar en las originales y señeras tiradas del Santo, donde los vecinos arrojan por ventanas y balcones todo tipo de alimentos por el recorrido que sigue la procesión.
Para la ejecución del monumento el escultor Martín Lagares ha producido una escultura que representa la figura de un tamborilero con su flauta y tamboril, junto a un cochino, una estampa tradicional que se remonta a cientos de años atrás y que supone el preámbulo y el anuncio de la celebración de las fiestas de San Antonio Abad."

"Trigueros already has one of its most anticipated urban attractions, the Monument in Honor of the Festivities of San Antonio Abad, patron saint of the town, which was inaugurated by the City Council this Friday, November 4 in the Plaza de España of the municipality.
The mayor of Trigueros, Cristóbal Romero, and the sculptor Martín Lagares, who was in charge of executing this monument, as well as the Trigueros Drummers School, were present at the inauguration ceremony of this monument.
With this action, the Trigueros City Council highlights one of the great festive and cultural events in Andalusia, since these patron saint festivities bring together thousands of people to accompany San Antonio Abad and participate in the original and distinctive shootings of the Saint, where the Neighbors throw all kinds of food through windows and balconies along the route that the procession follows.
For the execution of the monument, the sculptor Martín Lagares has produced a sculpture that represents the figure of a drummer with his flute and drum, along with a pig, a traditional image that dates back hundreds of years and that represents the preamble and the announcement of the celebration of the festivities of San Antonio Abad."
