"Access to the cloister of the convent is through the bridge that connects Via dei Frati with Campo Sant'Angelo. This bridge is called “of the friars” because it was built by the Augustinian friars in 1455 to access the convent.

The large entrance portal of the convent is covered by a marble lunette, which represents Saint Augustine and four monks. This portal leads to a cloister, almost completely rebuilt after the fire of 1529.

The southeast wall of the first cloister was painted with scenes from the Old and New Testament, by the famous painter Giovanni Antonio de' Sacchis nicknamed Pordenone.

Under the apse of this baroque church runs a navigable river (the Río del Santissimo) so we could say that part of the church is a bridge."
