"Santa Fe ha viajado al pasado para celebrar el 525 aniversario de las Capitulaciones. Decenas de personas se han dado cita en el municipio para disfrutar de las actividades organizadas en torno a la efeméride que conmemora la firma del acuerdo entre los Reyes Católicos y Cristóbal Colón que dio lugar a las expediciones y el descubrimiento de América. Todo en una festividad donde no faltan las gaitas, las banderolas medievales que cuelgan de los tejados y el ambiente histórico que marca una efeméride, que sin duda, cambió el rumbo de la historia.
La propia localidad reivindicó su papel ayer como "cuna de la Hispanidad en el Descubrimiento de América y eje fundamental para el desarrollo de proyectos de futuro que le sitúen en el lugar que le corresponde por su historia". Así lo destacó el Ayuntamiento en una nota tras la celebración del acto institucional donde se rindió un homenaje a la reina Isabel con la colocación de tres coronas de laurel ante el busto situado frente al Instituto América. Todo, en un acto donde estuvieron presentes distintos representantes políticos como el vicepresidente de la Junta de Andalucía, Manuel Jiménez Barrios, quien puso a la localidad santaferina como "ejemplo de que los grandes proyectos necesitan ser abrazados por la ciudadanía para seguir adelante".
El Ayuntamiento obsequió a las instituciones y organismos participantes con la entrega de una medalla conmemorativa del 525 aniversario realizada por el artista Miguel Moreno. Estos actos se incluyen dentro del programa previsto para la segunda jornada de la fiesta de las Capitulaciones, que ayer también contó con la celebración de carreras y justas a caballo, un campamento militar o la actuación de David de María en el marco del XXVI Festival Música de los Mundos.
La fiesta concluye hoy con visitas guiadas a través de romanceros dramatizados por las puertas monumentales de Santa Fe, así como una concentración de Vespas clásicas y la última jornada del mercado medieval, el campamento militar y los conciertos en la Plaza de España en el ciclo Música de los Mundos.
En el campamento militar se encontraba ayer llegado desde Valencia, Álvaro Colón, que participa en espectáculos de combate y relata a los asistentes la evolución de las armaduras o cómo vivía en la Edad Media, o las ropas que se utilizaban. Explicaciones que atraen tanto a grandes como a pequeños y que amplían los conocimientos de este periodo de la historia. "La Edad Media fueron 900 años de guerras . Hay mucho que contar y este tipo de celebraciones sirven para hacerlo".
