Marino, Contralmirante de la Armada Nacional. Primero en dar la vuelta al mundo en un acorazado, al mando del ‘Numancia’. Participó en la batalla de Callao (Perú). Monumento erigido por el Ayuntamiento de Santiago con la colaboración de sus admiradores de Pontevedra (1885). Posee otra placa conmemorativa del ayuntamiento de Ferrol. Obra de Sanmartín."

He was a naval officer, rear admiral of the Spanish Navy. He was the first man who went around the world on a battleship, in charge of the “Numancia”, and he took part at the battle of Callao (Peru). The monument was erected by the City Council of Santiago in collaboration with his admirers from Pontevedra (1885). There is another commemorative plaque from the City Council of Ferrol. Monument built by Sanmartín."
