"En un entorno incomparable se sitúa la Iglesia de la Madre de Dios y Convento de los RR.PP. Franciscanos, y en el centro del Llanete de San Francisco se levanta la Fuente Real. En cuanto al patrimonio destacan la Iglesia conventual de la Madre de Dios donde sobresalen su retablo, su imaginería y un importante y bellísimo claustro. Fundada en 1558, aunque su aspecto actual corresponde a obras realizadas a partir de 1620. Posee una sencilla portada que da paso a un amplio interior de planta de cruz latina, con capillas laterales, centrado en una elevada luminosa cúpula semiesférica. El altar mayor está presidido, por un bello retablo de estilo barroco salomónico en el que además destaca la sillería de su coro. El convento anejo se organiza en torno a un bello patio, de planta cuadrada y de grandes dimensiones formado por dos claustros, alto y bajo, con arcadas sobre columnas dóricas en el inferior y jónicas en el superior, y centrado con una monumental fuente de planta mixtilínea y barroco pilar de doble taza, de comienzos del siglo XVII. La fuente Real es de planta octogonal tiene un pilar central con remate en forma de escudo con dos blasones: el de Lucena, dividido en dos cuarteles, el principal con el castillo y sobre él, el lucero, y el segundo con San Jorge a caballo. El otro blasón de España se colocó posteriormente según la inscripción con fecha de 1842. Hay noticias de que en 1767, se colocó el blasón sanjorgista en el pilar de la fuente, el cual fue reemplazado por otro igual, en 1812, debido a su gran deterioro.
