Considerada una de las fiestas más arraigadas de la ciudad, la ermita del Cristo de la Verónica está preparada ya para acoger como cada año a sus devotos.
Este año la Romería del Santísimo Cristo de la Verónica coincide con la apertura de la Cuesta Talavera, lo que permitirá que se pueda usar este tramo de vía que ya está abiertoEsta ermita se mantiene gracias a devotos y a empresas antequeranas que donan materiales para que se pueda mantener este espacio”, afirmó Molina, quien se mostró muy orgulloso de la veneración que se tiene en Antequera hacia esta imagen tan visitada a lo largo de todo el año al paso.
Las obras de cimentación y base de la futura iglesia con la que contará el Señor de la Verónica, y por ende la zona de expansión de la ciudad, serán acometidas por el propio Ayuntamiento. El resto de los trabajos serán sufragados por empresas de la zona. “El Obispado de Málaga ha mostrado interés por este espacio religioso. En la última reunión que mantuvimos así me lo manifestaron, con la idea de que esta zona de expansión de Antequera cuente con su propia iglesia”
