"Cortes y Graena es un municipio de la comarca de Guadix cuyo nombre, puede inducir a pensar que son dos núcleos poblacionales unidos, sin embargo, son cuatro: Cortes, Graena, Los Baños y Lopera, los que lo constituyen. Estas pedanías quedaron unidas administrativa y eclesiásticamente desde principios del siglo XVI.
La Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Anunciación, se levantó en la primera mitad del siglo XVI, es una de las joyas de estilo mudéjar más espectaculares de la comarca de Guadix.
Se tienen pocos datos de los inicios y de los responsables de su construcción. En 1545, año en que empiezan a tenerse datos de los libros de fábrica de la iglesia de Graena, ya estaba construida gran parte del templo.
El templo es de una sola nave, con coro a los pies y una sólida torre, detrás de la cabecera.
La torre está realizada de cajones de tapial encintados de ladrillo, y rematada por un campanario liso, con dobles vanos. La cruz del tejado se engasta en una jarra de cerámica. Las cornisas de la torre son de ladrillo en esquina, así como las de las habitaciones añadidas, mientras que la iglesia las tiene de cornisa moldurada.
La portada está centrada por un arco de medio punto, flanqueado por columnas dóricas. En ambas enjutas se encuentra el escudo del obispo Antonio del Águila (1537-1546). Encima de las columnas, se sitúa un friso donde se puede leer la inscripción: AVE MARÍA GRACIA PLENA.
Un medallón con la Virgen, el Niño y decoraciones propias del estilo renacentista corona la portada.
La sencillez y sobriedad del interior de la iglesia de Graena queda compensada por la excepcional armadura mudéjar que la cubre, cuya policromía es de las más ricas de la comarca. Multitud de guirnaldas, candelieri, máscaras, monstruos y demás fantasías ornamentales del Renacimiento vivifican las maderas y lacerías que la adornan."

The Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation, built in the first half of the 16th century, is one of the most spectacular Mudejar style jewels in the Guadix region.

The temple has a single nave, with a choir at the foot and a solid tower behind the chancel.
The tower is made of rammed earth boxes wrapped in brick, and topped by a smooth bell tower, with double openings. The roof cross is set in a ceramic jug. The cornices of the tower are made of corner brick, as are those of the added rooms, while the church has a molded cornice.
The façade is centered by a semicircular arch, flanked by Doric columns. In both spandrels there is the shield of Bishop Antonio del Águila (1537-1546). Above the columns, there is a frieze where you can read the inscription: AVE MARÍA GRACIA PLENA.
A medallion with the Virgin, the Child and decorations typical of the Renaissance style crowns the cover.
The simplicity and sobriety of the interior of the Graena church is compensated by the exceptional Mudejar armor that covers it, whose polychrome is one of the richest in the region. A multitude of garlands, candelieri, masks, monsters and other ornamental fantasies of the Renaissance enliven the wood and lacework that adorns it."
