“El Parque Escultórico de Hinojosa es en realidad un museo al aire libre. Las obras están repartidas por las calles y plazas y por el término municipal del pueblo. La idea surge del artista Florencio de Pedro nacido en Hinojosa el año 1955. Su contacto con otros artistas plásticos sobre todo escultores hizo que muchos de ellos se acercaran a la localidad para llevar a cabo el proyecto.
Los años comprendidos entre 1996 y 1999 fueron los más prolíficos. Los artistas se instalaron en las casas de algunos vecinos, conviviendo con ellos, mientras iban creando sus obras. Durante este periodo se instalaron las 36 esculturas. Las entidades colaboradoras fueron la asociación cultura La Huerta y el Ayuntamiento que en la actualidad siguen apoyando la idea.
Los artistas que participaron fueron, entre otros, Ignacio Rodríguez Ruiz, Bodo Ullrich Bau, Esther del Castilla, Antonio Chiprana, Nelson Villalobos, Julio Pérez, Jesús Hernández y el propio Florencio de Pedro.
La temática de las obras son de lo más variado pero todas giran en torno “A la memoria de los pueblos”, hilo conductor del parque. El estilo también es diverso y depende, por supuesto, de las características artísticas de los escultores. Predominan las esculturas figurativas aunque los materiales son diferentes: roca caliza, hierro, mármol, alabastro, cemento, etc.
Podemos encontrar una bruja, un árbol pétreo, animales, cortejos amorosos, ancianos, juegos populares, defensas del medio-ambiente y así hasta 36 obras diferentes.
Todas están en maqueta en el museo de Hinojosa en el que explica con detalle el origen y evolución del parque.”

“The Hinojosa Sculpture Park is actually an open-air museum. The works are distributed throughout the streets and squares and throughout the municipal area of the town. The idea came from the artist Florencio de Pedro, born in Hinojosa in 1955. His contact with other artists, especially sculptors, led many of them to come to the town to carry out the project.
The years between 1996 and 1999 were the most prolific. The artists settled in the houses of some neighbors, living with them, while they created their works. During this period the 36 sculptures were installed. The collaborating entities were the La Huerta cultural association and the City Council, which currently continue to support the idea.
The artists who participated were, among others, Ignacio Rodríguez Ruiz, Bodo Ullrich Bau, Esther del Castilla, Antonio Chiprana, Nelson Villalobos, Julio Pérez, Jesús Hernández and Florencio de Pedro himself.
The themes of the works are very varied but they all revolve around “To the memory of the people”, the common theme of the park. The style is also diverse and depends, of course, on the artistic characteristics of the sculptors. Figurative sculptures predominate although the materials are different: limestone, iron, marble, alabaster, cement, etc.
We can find a witch, a stone tree, animals, courtships, old people, popular games, environmental defenses and so on up to 36 different works.
They are all in models in the Hinojosa museum, which explains in detail the origin and evolution of the park.”
