"El cementerio de Cuevas Bajas se sitúa al sureste de su núcleo urbano, prácticamente en las afueras.
Si atendemos a lo indicado en el portón de acceso al mismo, fue inaugurado en 1891, como también lo corrobora la existencia de alguna lápida de nicho de finales de ese siglo.
La planta del camposanto se correspondería con la base de un paralepípedo, estando rodeada por una cerca blanca de gran plasticidad resultado de la la fusión de esta con el encastramiento de la trasera de bloques de nichos de distinto tamaño. Esta disposición ha quedado destruida en parte con la ampliación del cementerio por el lado noroeste.
El acceso se realiza a través de un gran portón de ladrillo, rematado con arco semicircular y cierre con puerta de hierro de doble hoja y montante, ambos con motivos decorativos en S, barras radiales y volutas.
Una vez dentro se abre un recto pasillo hacia el fondo a cuyos lados se distribuyen casi ortogonalmente bloques de distinto tipo. Del mismo modo, al perímetro de la cerca se adosan bloques de nicho además de algún mausoleo.
Las lápidas más antiguas se sitúan junto a la entrada, que como hemos indicado comienzan a contabilizarse desde finales del siglo XIX (hemos podido ver una de 1896), siendo relativamente abundantes las de principios del XX . Estas lápidas se encastran en muros no directamente relacionados con bloques, al menos en su disposición actual. Los más antiguos se distribuyen igualmente en los alrededores de la puerta.
En cuanto a la forma de los bloques, los hay bastante recientes, de nicho rectangular y propiedad individual, pero los más destacados, que se corresponden con la mayoría, son los que denomino bloques panteón ) lo que se justifica porque una familia es propietaria de un bloque completo: adosado a otros (la mayor parte) o exentos, y de distintos tamaños: una, dos o tres calles y generalmente cuatro niveles de nichos, rematados con antepechos, hastiales, etc., de arquitectura sencilla y conservando un gran número de ellos el tradicional nicho semicircular.
Existe una construcción cúbica en ladrillo de estilo neogótico de la que desconocemos., si se trata de la capilla del cementerio o bien de un mausoleo o panteón.
Se sitúa en el extremo sureste del pueblo, ya en las afueras. Se puede acceder por la calle Victoria, que parte desde el lado derecho de la iglesia de San Juan Bautista. Museografía. Conservación. Didáctica. El aspecto general es bueno. Incluso los nichos vacíos aparecen cuidados. Al tratarse de un monumento en uso, se perciben las transformaciones y añadidos a lo largo del tiempo. Es necesario conservar las secciones y lápidas más antiguas que aún quedan, algunas de un innegable interés histórico y artístico."

"The Cuevas Bajas cemetery is located southeast of its urban center, practically on the outskirts.
If we pay attention to what is indicated on the access gate, it was inaugurated in 1891, as is also corroborated by the existence of some niche tombstone from the end of that century.
The ground plan of the cemetery would correspond to the base of a parallelepiped, being surrounded by a white fence of great plasticity resulting from the fusion of this with the interlocking of the rear blocks of niches of different sizes. This arrangement has been partially destroyed with the expansion of the cemetery on the northwest side.
Access is through a large brick gate, topped with a semicircular arch and closed with a double-leaf iron door and pillar, both with decorative S-shaped motifs, radial bars and volutes.
Once inside, a straight hallway opens towards the back, on whose sides blocks of different types are distributed almost orthogonally. Similarly, niche blocks are attached to the perimeter of the fence as well as some mausoleums.
The oldest tombstones are located next to the entrance, which, as we have indicated, began to be counted from the end of the 19th century (we were able to see one from 1896), with those from the beginning of the 20th being relatively abundant. These tombstones are embedded in walls not directly related to blocks, at least in their current arrangement. The oldest ones are also distributed around the door.
As for the shape of the blocks, there are quite recent ones, with rectangular niches and individual ownership, but the most prominent, which correspond to the majority, are what I call pantheon blocks), which is justified because a family owns a complete block: attached to others (most of them) or free-standing, and of different sizes: one, two or three streets and generally four levels of niches, topped with parapets, gables, etc., of simple architecture and preserving a large number of them the traditional semicircular niche.
There is a cubic brick construction in the neo-Gothic style of which we do not know whether it is the cemetery chapel or a mausoleum or pantheon.
It is located at the southeast end of the town, already on the outskirts. It can be accessed via Victoria Street, which starts from the right side of the church of San Juan Bautista.
