"El Teatro Municipal El Carpio está adosado a la Torre del Homenaje en el Callejón de Graneros. El teatro está recientemente restaurado. Sus sótanos, antiguos graneros de la fortaleza, forman parte de la planta de sótano del recinto del castillo según la remodelación llevada a cabo en la segunda mitad del s. XVII.
Estos sótanos fueron utilizados en la Guerra Civil (1936-1939) como lugar de refugio.
El acto se abrió con el estreno de la interpretación Refugio de una luz, una melodía de Miguel Romero Sirvent que sirvió de homenaje a las personas que llenaron de angustia y sufrimiento este espacio escénico durante la guerra civil española. Escrita para ensemble instrumental, la narración musical estableció un paralelismo con las emociones que un artista experimenta antes de salir al escenario".

"The El Carpio Municipal Theater is attached to the Torre del Homenaje in the Callejón de Graneros. The theater is recently restored. Its basements, former granaries of the fortress, are part of the basement floor of the castle enclosure according to the remodeling carried out carried out in the second half of the 17th century.
These basements were used in the Civil War (1936-1939) as a place of refuge.
The event opened with the premiere of the performance Refugio de una luz, a melody by Miguel Romero Sirvent that served as a tribute to the people who filled this scenic space with anguish and suffering during the Spanish civil war.
