A census designated place, with a 2020 population of 51, Wintersburg is more of a crossroads shopping center than a community. There is a gas station, a barber shop, two bars and a small grocery store. And you can't overlook the largest nuclear power plant in the United States. Located in the Sonoran Desert, there are housing communities around Wintersburg that are not technically part of the community. Its current existence is probably due to the demand for services from the employees of the Palo Verde nuclear power plant.
