The white painted transformer building with the words "Välkommen BODA" on the southeastern wall at the road Storgatan in Boda Glasbruk was used to bring the needed electric power to the glass factory, which was closed in 2003. The machinery and the floorboards of the upper floor were removed, except some panels. The glass factory was at this place since the late 18th century and was using electricity since the 1920ies for the glass furnaces.

In 2019 a glass museum opened in the former glass factory with showing handmade pieces made of glass from the last three centuries and live performances where you can see how these art is made. Some (not so valuable) pieces made of glass are also shown in the transformer building, access is possible during the opening times of the museum. Entering this exhibition room is free of charge.
Creation date: somewhen in the 1920ies

Status: Converted

Current use: Exhibition room of the glass museum on the other side of the road
