"Regí Mas i Marí ( Benifaió , 7 de septiembre de 1899 - Benicalap , Valencia , 31 de mayo de 1968 ) fue un innovador artista fallero , considerado uno de los mejores de la historia. Se considera que su mejor trabajo es La Ley del embudo ( Plaza del Mercado , 1944 ). En su palmarés figuran 22 primeros premios , 12 de ingenio y gracia y 5 muñecos indultados .
Estudió dibujo en la escuela San Carlos de Valencia. Plantó su primera falla en 1918 , si bien previamente ya había conocido el oficio haciendo de aprendiz. Fue el primer artista en plantar fallas grandes, y gustaba de plantar un elegante muñeco central rodeado por los muñecos menores, donde predominaba la sátira y el humor, además de la belleza.
Su compromiso satírico le valieron seis meses y un día de prisión al terminar la Guerra Civil Española , acusado de auxilio a la rebelión; además de recibir dos mejillas por parte del responsable de la Feria de Muestras valenciana, ofendido por un muñeco donde aparecía parodiado, y se criticaba el negocio de estraperlo (mercado negro ) con café guineano en 1947 .
Durante la República presidió la Asociación de artistas falleros, y al salir de la cárcel, fue miembro fundador del Gremio Artesano de Artistas Falleros , en 1943 . Una iniciativa suya fue la creación del museo fallero , donde se expondría el muñeco indultado , es decir, aquel que cada año se salva de ser quemado en las fiestas. Ejemplo de la calidad de su trabajo son los cinco muñecos suyos que todavía hoy podemos encontrar allí, que son de los años 1941 , 1942 , 1944 , 1947 y 1958 . También impulsó la creación de la Ciudad del artista fallero.
Fuera del ámbito fallero, como otros muchos artistas falleros, participó en la creación de atrezzo para películas; su pieza más famosa es el títere de la perrita Marilyn, de la TVE de los años 60 .
Murió en 1969 al caer de un andamio en su taller de la Ciudad del artista fallero , en el barrio de Benicalap de Valencia."

Outside the Fallas sphere, like many other Fallas artists, he participated in the creation of props for films; His most famous piece is the puppet of the dog Marilyn, from TVE in the 60s.
He died in 1969 after falling from a scaffolding in his workshop in the City of the Fallero Artist, in the Benicalap neighborhood of Valencia."
