This monument is on the grounds of the Van Wyck Homestead Museum. Looking at the house, the monument is behind it and to the left.

The text of the monument says:

"American Revolution Bicentennial Memorial
1776 ? ? 1976
To all the brave souls who passed
through, served, and died here at the
site of the Northern Department
Supply Depot, Fishkill, New York.
1776 – 1783

May their spirit of dedication be
rekindled within the souls of all who
stop, reflect, and journey on."

According to the self-guided walking tour brochure, there is an Indian Maiden buried below.

Text of self-guided walking tour brochure:

"A road crew digging trenches on a Fishkill side road in the 1970's discovred a skeleton that was determined to be that of an Indian maiden in her late teens. When her remains needed a burial place she was laid to rest under the Bicentennial monument. In 2002 a Native American ritual was held at the site to sanctify her final resting place. The Ninham Mountain Singers conducted the public ceremony."

"In 1976 at the United States celebrated the 200th anniversary of our nation. The Fishkill Historical Society erected a monument to the event which was a pyramid formed by stone donated by over 50 historic sites. Among those are stones from Saratoga, Yorktown, Bennington and Fort Ticonderoga."

Inside the museum is a guide that tells which stone came from which site.
