Le Monument aux Morts, “en granit gris” est constitué d’un obélisque (“pyramide”) dominant un socle à deux niveaux (partie inférieure élargie) posé sur un unique niveau d’assise formant emmarchement. Ce niveau d’assise est installé au sommet d’un “soubassement” en forme de pyramide. Ce soubassement en forme de pyramide est conforté par des renforts d’angle, se terminant en partie supérieure par un enroulement.

Le sommet de l’obélisque est en forme de pointe mais le bout est cassé.

Sur la face antérieure de l’obélisque, est fixé un ensemble en bronze constitué par une grande palme verticale (“la palme sera en bronze et solidement fixée sur le fût de la pyramide”) portant une couronne végétale ouverte vers le haut (branche de chêne à gauche et d’olivier à droite) avec en partie inférieure une banderole déroulée portant inscrit à gauche “PRO” et à droite “PATRIA” (c’est-à-dire : pour la patrie).

Au niveau du socle, chaque face présente en partie supérieure un fronton à profil en double pente. Sur la face antérieure du socle est fixé un “panneau de marbre “ de teinte blanche. Cette plaque porte l’inscription principale gravée en lettres d’or sur cinq lignes.

Sur les côtés latéraux du socle sont fixés deux autres “panneaux de marbre “ de forme similaire au panneau de la face antérieure. Ces plaques portent sous une reproduction de Croix de guerre en alliage cuivreux, “gravées et dorées à l’or fin”, les lettres constituant les noms, prénoms, ainsi que l’unité d’appartenance des soldats de la la commune de Rosnay, morts de 1914 à 1918. Les 65 noms (alors qu’en mai 1920 il n’est fait état que de 57 noms) sont classés (à quelques rares exceptions), dans l’ordre des dates de décès (colonne de gauche, puis colonne de droite, en commençant par la plaque de droite). Sur la plaque fixée du côté droit un premier nom occupe toute la largeur, les suivants se répartissent ensuite sur deux colonnes séparées par un filet vertical doré. Sur la partie inférieure de la face antérieure du socle, une plaque de teinte blanche à reflet rose a été ajouté par la suite. Sur cette plaque figurent en lettres d’or sous «1939-1945” quatre noms et prénoms.

Au pied de la face antérieure du monument, à la base du soubassement en forme de pyramide, est posée une plaque de bois. Sur celle-ci se trouve une branche de laurier en alliage cuivreux portant sur un petit bandeau le mot « VERDUN ».

Le monument est protégé par quatre bornes à sommet en tête de diamant. Sur chaque face une barre de fer horizontale relie entre elles les bornes situées aux quatre angles de la base du soubassement (le devis du 10 juin 1920 se contentant de préciser : “l’entourage sera en fer forgé”).

The War Memorial, “in gray granite”, consists of an obelisk (“pyramid”) dominating a base on two levels (widened lower part) placed on a single level of seat forming a step. This level of seating is installed at the top of a pyramid-shaped “basement”. This pyramid-shaped base is reinforced by corner reinforcements, ending in the upper part with a winding.

The top of the obelisk is in the shape of a point but the tip is broken.

On the front face of the obelisk, is fixed a bronze set consisting of a large vertical palm (“the palm will be in bronze and firmly fixed on the shaft of the pyramid”) carrying a vegetable crown open towards the top (branch of oak on the left and olive on the right) with in the lower part an unrolled banner bearing the inscription on the left “PRO” and on the right “PATRIA” (that is to say: for the fatherland).

At the level of the base, each face has a pediment with a double slope profile in the upper part. On the front face of the base is fixed a "marble panel" of white color. This plate bears the main inscription engraved in gold letters on five lines.

On the lateral sides of the plinth are attached two other “marble panels” similar in shape to the panel on the front face. These plates bear under a reproduction of the War Cross in copper alloy, “engraved and gilded with fine gold”, the letters constituting the surnames, first names, as well as the unit to which the soldiers of the commune of Rosnay belong, died from 1914 to 1918. The 65 names (while in May 1920 only 57 names were reported) are listed (with a few rare exceptions) in order of date of death (left column, then right column, starting with the right plate). On the plate fixed on the right side, a first name occupies the entire width, the following are then distributed over two columns separated by a vertical golden net. On the lower part of the front face of the base, a white plate with a pink reflection was added later. On this plate appear in gold letters under “1939-1945” four surnames and first names.

At the foot of the front face of the monument, at the base of the pyramid-shaped base, is placed a wooden plate. On it is a copper alloy laurel branch bearing the word "VERDUN" on a small band.

The monument is protected by four diamond-topped bollards. On each side a horizontal iron bar connects the terminals located at the four corners of the base of the base (the estimate of June 10, 1920 merely specifies: “the entourage will be in wrought iron”).
