Au début du XXème siècle, ce lieu accueillant encore un pèlerinage pour les rogations mais d'outres croyances, plus anciennes, attribuent des vertus à l'eau de cette fontaine qui aurait le pouvoir de faire marcher les enfants Elle a reçu le visite de nombreux bambins dont les parents trempoires les jambes dans l'eau lorsqu'ils tardaient à marcher

Par la suite, elle a été abandonnée. Tout sest écroulé et a disparu Deux habitants de la commune ont entrepris sa restauration en 1993 en dégageant des broussailles la morgelle octogonale en granit (peut-être margelle d'un puits gallo-romain ?), en reconstruisant un oratoire couvert en bordeaux de châtaignier et en sculptant ce nouveau St Rémy dons du poirier

Le nettoyage de la fontaine a permis de découvrir divers objets (poterie, verre, silex, pièces de monnaie) témoignant de la fréquentation très ancienne de cette fontaine. Tous ces objets sont exposés à la mairie de Colondannes.

Eventually, it was abandoned. Two local residents set about restoring it in 1993, clearing the undergrowth from the octagonal granite morgelle (perhaps the coping of a Gallo-Roman well?), rebuilding a covered oratory in chestnut burgundy and sculpting a new St Rémy in the form of a pear tree.

The cleaning of the fountain has uncovered a variety of objects (pottery, glass, flint, coins) testifying to its long history of use. All these objects are on display at the Colondannes town hall.
