"La Casa salesiana Juan XXIII de Alcoy nace ya dentro de la nueva Inspectoría salesiana de San José, fruto de la división de la tarraconense en 1958 en las Inspectorías de Barcelona y de Valencia, en el curso 1969-1970, aunque la primera piedra se puso en junio de 1967. Pensada, inicialmente, como Escuela de Formación Profesional de manera exclusiva, acogerá también a enseñanzas de EGB y Preescolar o infantil en la parte norte de la ciudad de Alcoy. Una zona urbana en continua expansión que ofrece un vasto campo a la labor pastoral salesiana.
Tras la aprobación del Consejo Superior en Roma en 1967, empezó la construcción del edificio principal de 100 metros de largo por 21 de ancho con dos plantas y un cuerpo central. La planta baja y el sótano se destinaba a talleres. El proyecto original contemplaba un edificio de tres plantas preparado para 1.200 alumnos, pero los recortes presupuestarios lo dejaron en dos. De hecho, los cimientos y la estructura de pilares están preparados para soportar una planta más.
En el curso 1969-1970 se inician las actividades académicas denominadas de iniciación profesional, con mecánica y automoción. D. Alfonso Eslava (Director 1969-1971) y los coadjutores Jesús Elía y Julián Moreno serán los tres primeros salesianos en llevar adelante el trabajo educativo en este nuevo centro. Durante el curso 1971-1972 se inaugura oficialmente la parroquia en una sala de la planta baja del edificio del colegio. En marzo de 1972 son reconocidas oficialmente las escuelas profesionales, se realizará por primera vez la fiesta de San Juan Bosco y el día de la comunidad educativa.En el curso 1975-1976 la Formación Profesional superará, por primera vez, los 200 alumnos, desarrollándose, sobre todo, la electrónica. La Educación General Básica está llena ya desde hace unos años.
Se ha ido consolidando la Formación Profesional, ahora con los nuevos ciclos de grado medio y la formación profesional básica. Además, en diferentes etapas, se han impartido cursos en colaboración con otras instituciones para trabajadores en activo y desempleados.
Este colegio, en los últimos años, ha crecido en número de alumnos y en una amplia oferta educativa, desde educación infantil, pasando el educación primaria, secundaria y formación profesional tanto de grado básico con los ciclos de mantenimiento de vehículos, informática y comunicaciones y servicios comerciales como de grado medio con los ciclos de electromecánica de vehículos, instalaciones de telecomunicaciones, gestión administrativa y actividades comerciales. Además de gran cantidad de servicios complementarios y actividades extraescolares que completan el amplia abanico de posibilidades para jóvenes de Alcoy y poblaciones cercanas."

This school, in recent years, has grown in number of students and in a wide educational offer, from early childhood education, through primary and secondary education and vocational training, both basic level with cycles of vehicle maintenance, computing and communications and commercial services as medium grade with the cycles of vehicle electromechanics, telecommunications installations, administrative management and commercial activities.
