ORIN (NQ0554) - Converse County, Wyoming - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

If approaching from Douglas, travel southeast out of town keeping on Orin Way (as opposed to getting onto I-25 at Exit 135). If approaching from Orin Junction, take Exit 126 and travel northwest along the frontage road that runs parallel to I-25 on its southwest side. The station is about 55 feet to the southwest of the centerline of the frontage road and about one foot southwest of a barbed wire fence. It is surrounded by three I-beams that have been buried in the ground, and is about one foot southwest of a metal witness post and a fiberglass witness post. The station is set in the top of a square concrete monument that projects about 2 inches above the ground.

I was able to find reference mark 2 on my visit to the station, which is located to the northwest of the station mark and is posted as a separate waymark. Reference mark 1 is across the fence to the southwest of the station. While I could see the concrete monument that reference mark 1 is set in and see the disk through the tall grass, I did not hop across the fence to photograph it due to its being on private property. Given the nearby VOR station that also sits across the fence, I recommend anyone who wishes to see RM1 up close receive landowner permission so as to avoid any problems with the land owners or FAA. I did not look for the azimuth mark, owing to safety concerns with it being on the right-of-way of I-25's north bound lanes.
