La capilla de las Rosas o capilla del Cerrito es un templo católico ubicado en la cima del cerro del Tepeyac, en la alcaldía Gustavo A. Madero. Fue fundada a finales del siglo xvii en el lugar donde de acuerdo a la tradición.

The Chapel of the Roses or Chapel of Cerrito is a catholic temple located at the top of the Tepeyac Hill, in the municipality of Gustavo A. Madero. It was founded at the end of the 17th century in the place where, according to tradition, Juan Diego Cuauhtlato was born. Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin cut and collected roses by indication of Our Lady of Guadalupe to show them as proof of his apparitions to Bishop Fray Juan de Zumarraga.

La Capilla del Cerrito de los Ángeles data de 1666, aunque el edificio actual se inició a construir en 1740. En ocasiones es llamada también La Capilla del Cerro de Tepeyac.
La tradición mexicana sostiene que el 9 de Diciembre de 1531, la Virgen de Guadalupe se le apareció por primera vez a Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin. Se dice que esta capilla marca la ubicación exacta de dicha aparición y la iglesia parroquial, por otro lado, está fuertemente asociada con el “milagro de las flores frescas”. El nombre “la pequeña colina” posiblemente representa un desafío para los escaladores, ya que realmente no es tan pequeña.
La capilla construida en el cerro del Tepeyac en 1666 sobrevivió unos 120 años, pero finalmente tuvo que ser reemplazada por algo más sustancial, incluida la casa de un capellán, situada a un lado de la capilla. Hoy en día, es amada por los frescos murales del artista Fernando Leal, quien cuenta la historia de las apariciones. En 1895 se colocaron cuatro ángeles de mármol del escultor Ernesto Tamariz y una cruz del apóstol. Desde la terraza se puede disfrutar de la vista de la Ciudad.
Entre 1945 y 1950, la Capilla del Cerrito fue reconstruida para incluir una pequeña plaza con cuatro esculturas de los Arcángeles Miguel, Rafael, Gabriel y Uriel.
El cerro de Tepeyac es una especie de estribación del cerro de Guerrero justo al norte. Un parque nacional por derecho propio, puede ofrecer una especie de respiro natural a medida que el parque continua expandiéndose como reserva natural.

The Chapel of Cerrito de los Angeles dates from 1666, although the current building was begun in 1740. Sometimes it is also called La Capilla del Cerro de Tepeyac.
Mexican tradition holds that on December 9, 1531, the Virgin of Guadalupe appeared for the first time to Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin. This chapel is said to mark the exact location of that apparition and the parish church, on the other hand, is strongly associated with the "miracle of the fresh flowers". The name "the little hill" possibly represents a challenge for climbers, as it is really not that small.
The chapel built on the Tepeyac hill in 1666 survived some 120 years, but eventually had to be replaced by something more substantial, including a chaplain's house, located to one side of the chapel. Today, it is beloved for the mural frescoes by artist Fernando Leal, who tells the story of the apparitions. In 1895, four marble angels by sculptor Ernesto Tamariz and a cross of the apostle were placed. From the terrace you can enjoy the view of the city.
Between 1945 and 1950, the Cerrito Chapel was rebuilt to include a small plaza with four sculptures of the Archangels Michael, Raphael, Gabriel and Uriel.
The Cerro de Tepeyac is a sort of spur of the Cerro de Guerrero just to the north. A national park in its own right, it can offer a kind of natural respite as the park continues to expand as a nature reserve.
