The set of tower and attached house-palace is of feudal origin, the tower being from the 14th century, and the later palace. The slender tower is an originally exempt defensive element. Its base is rectangular, and it is distributed in height over four floors, the last of which must have been crenellated. The palace house has been extensively modified and reformed over the centuries, and its main entrance stands out, a semicircular arch with elegant voussoirs.

Although in the provincial term there are vestiges that date back to the Paleolithic, the origin of the current Bellús is an Islamic farmhouse in whose aljama the notables of the neighboring towns met. After the Reconquest, it had different lords before passing through marriage to the Bellvís family, who kept it as their property until the abolition of the lordships.
