Das Glockenspiel im Rathaus von Weimar
Das Glockenspiel in der heutigen Form wurde erst am 30.04.1987 im Rathausturm installiert. Die Glocken, insgesamt 35 Glöckchen aus Meissener Porzellan, erklingen von Anfang April bis Ende Dezember täglich um 10.00 Uhr, 12.00 Uhr, 15.00 Uhr und 17.00Uhr. Von Januar bis März sind sie stumm, da sie bei großer Kälte zerspringen könnten.
Es werden 14 Melodien mit Bezug zu Weimar gespielt.

The carillon in the town hall of Weimar
The carillon in its present form was not installed in the town hall tower until 30 April 1987. The bells, a total of 35 bells made of Meissen porcelain, ring daily from the beginning of April to the end of December at 10:00, 12:00, 15:00 and 17:00. From January to March they are silent, as they could burst in the cold.
Fourteen melodies with a connection to Weimar are played.

Schedule of regular public performances:
Glockenspiel ertönt täglich um 10.00, 12.00, 15.00 und 17.00 Uhr während des Sommers und Herbstes (April bis Dezember). Im Winter, ab Januar bis Ende März, ist das Glockenspiel nicht zu hören, da die Porzellan-Glocken bei Frost Schaden erleiden könnten.

Chimes sound daily at 10 a.m., 12 a.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. during the summer and autum. The carillon cannot be heard in winter, from january to march, as the porcelain bells could be damaged by frost.
