[EN] In the early 13th century, Bishop Rainaud decided to build a new cathedral to gradually replace the old Romanesque one.

Work began on the choir, which adopted the vaulting and pointed arches inspired by the Ile de France and Normandy regions.

At the beginning of the 15th century, work continued on the two towers and, gradually, on the nave and transept. The whole was completed around 1495.

The north porch, known as the baptismal porch, opens onto the square. It is decorated with the ducal coat of arms. Inside, niches held statues of the Holy Apostles. Opposite it stood an ossuary, which disappeared after the French Revolution. In 1856, work was completed on the two spires.
