Relief on the eardrum, in which you can see the Virgin Mary flanked by King Jaume I.

"According to tradition, it was King Jaime I himself who ordered its construction, possibly on top of the old Muslim Mosque (13th century). The old church, in the parish Gothic style, is characterized by its rectangular floor plan with a single nave, with chapels on its sides.
Currently, the doorway located at the foot of the temple is preserved, composed of slightly pointed arcades in whose eardrum there is a sculptural group, formed by Saint Mary, supported by an angel and flanked on her right by Saint Bartholomew and on the left by Saint Barbara . In it the work of tapial is mixed with the masonry.
The rest of the building was made of mud, according to the Muslim tradition. In 2008, consolidation work was carried out on these archaeological remains to prevent their deterioration.
From the doorway to the south is the trinquet street, dedicated in those times to the game of ball and from where spectacular views of the south of Xixona and the entire coast are contemplated.
