The village of Inchture lies on the flatlands of the Carse of Gowrie in eastern Scotland to the north of the Firth of Tay and lying between the cities of Dundee and Perth.

The parish church in the village was built by David Mackenzie in 1834, before being destroyed by fire and largely rebuilt in 1890-91 by Duncan D Stewart..

The church is built of red sandstone in a Gothic style and is T-plan. The bell tower is placed on the north gable overlooking the road and is octagonal, with a twelve inch bell lying within.
