The azimuth mark is located on the west side of the right-of-way fence to the west of the concurrent U.S. 14/16 Highways and State Highway 59 to the north of Gillette, Wyoming. It is set in the top of a square concrete post that projects about 3 inches above the surface of the ground, and is about one foot to the south of a fiberglass witness post and 3 feet south of the original 4x4" wooden witness post. The golf course mentioned in the 1957 NGS description no longer exists.

From the junction of U.S. 14-16 and Little Powder River Road, walk north along the western right-of-way fence for about 215 feet to the azimuth mark on the west side of the fence.
