Una iglesia parroquial estuvo en el sitio desde el siglo XI, patrocinada por las familias patricias Dandolo y Pizzamano. Restaurado a lo largo de los siglos, se sometió a una importante reconstrucción a principios del siglo XVII y se volvió a consagrar en 1617. La fachada es sencilla, pero el interior tiene una rica decoración. Las paredes y el techo fueron pintados al fresco por Sebastiano Santi . En el altar del presbiterio hay un retablo que representa la aparición de la Virgen a San Lucas mientras escribe el Evangelio de Paolo Veronese . The Church of San Luca Evangelista is a church in the San Marco sestiere in Venice, Italy.

A parish church stood on the site since the 11th century, sponsored by the patrician Dandolo and Pizzamano families. Restored over the centuries, it underwent a major reconstruction at the beginning of the 17th century and was reconsecrated in 1617. The façade is simple, but the interior is richly decorated. The walls and ceiling were frescoed by Sebastiano Santi. On the altar in the chancel is an altarpiece depicting the apparition of the Virgin to Saint Luke while writing the Gospel by Paolo Veronese. In the right side chapel there is an altarpiece of the Virgin and Saints from Palma il Giovane. On the second altar on the left, there is a painting that represents Lorenzo Giustiniani, the first Patriarch of Venice, defeating the plague and distributing alms by Carlo Loth. Pietro Aretino, Lodovico Dolce and other men of letters are buried in San Luca.
