Estas dos puertas son de la parte trasera de la Iglesia de San Zacarias, por lo que se puede observar estan bastante deterioradas, lo que hace pensar que tienen poco uso, son de madera de pino y están realizadas con un patrón de cuadrados.
La primera iglesia de este lugar se fundó por el dogo de Venecia Giustiniano Participazio en el siglo ix y ocho dogos se encuentran enterrados en la cripta que aún se conserva.
La iglesia original románica fue reconstruida en los años 1170 (cuando se construyó el actual campanario) y fue reemplazada por una iglesia gótica en el siglo xiv.
La iglesia estaba vinculada a un monasterio benedictino, que era visitado por el dogo anualmente en Pascua en una ceremonia que incluía la presentación del cornu (sombrero ducal). Esta tradición se empezó después de que los monjes donaran tierra para la ampliación de la plaza de San Marcos en el siglo xii.
La actual iglesia fue construida en una mezcla de estilos gótico y renacentista entre 1444 y 1515. Antonio Gambello fue el arquitecto principal, pero la fachada fue acabada por Mauro Codussi.
El interior de la iglesia tiene un ábside rodeado por una girola iluminada por altas ventanas góticas, un rasgo típico de la arquitectura eclesiástica del norte de Europa, pero única en Venecia. These two doors are from the back of the Church of San Zacarias, so it can be seen that they are quite deteriorated, which suggests that they have little use, they are made of pine wood and are made with a square pattern.
The first church on this site was founded by the Doge of Venice Giustiniano Participazio in the 9th century, and eight Doges are buried in the surviving crypt.
The original Romanesque church was rebuilt in the 1170s (when the current bell tower was built) and was replaced by a Gothic church in the 14th century.
The church was linked to a Benedictine monastery, which was visited by the Doge annually at Easter in a ceremony that included the presentation of the cornu (ducal hat). This tradition began after the monks donated land for the expansion of Saint Mark's Square in the 12th century.
The present church was built in a mixture of Gothic and Renaissance styles between 1444 and 1515. Antonio Gambello was the main architect, but the façade was finished by Mauro Codussi.
The interior of the church has an apse surrounded by an ambulatory illuminated by tall Gothic windows, a typical feature of northern European ecclesiastical architecture, but unique to Venice. The walls of the side naves are entirely covered by paintings by Tintoretto, Angelo Trevisani, Giuseppe Salviati, Giovanni Bellini (The Madonna and Child with Saints), Antonio Balestra, Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo, Palma the Elder and Van Dyck. The artist Alessandro Vittoria is buried in the church, marking his grave with a bust self-portrait.
