The new Main Library in downtown Riverside, CA is a 2-story library lifted approximately 30 feet off the ground to allow for an arcade space under the library building. Total square footage for the Library is approximately 42,000.

Meeting Rooms: There are three study rooms, one conference room and one sound recording booth available at Main Library, free to use. Reservations can be made up to one week in advance for two hours a day total. See the website.

Main Library offers five options for rentable spaces, including the Community Room, Archive Reading Room and Event Terrace. See the website.

Experienced piano players interested in exhibiting their talent to create a pleasing ambience within the library are welcome to reserve a time. The piano is a vintage 1936 Steinway, Model B. Must have a valid Riverside Public Library card to play. Ages 12+. Reservations are available every Friday between 2-4pm, for a period of 15 minutes. See the website.

The Innovation Center houses an Oculus Rift Virtual Reality station, two 3D printers, a sound recording booth, three iMac desktop computers, and our Young Adult collection.

The Children’s Room welcomes families with bright colors, playful artwork, and a 30-foot-high skylight. The collection contains over 25,000 children’s books and an early learning section with toys to encourage imaginative play and tablets for interactive learning. There is seating for both parents and children, with power outlets in the tables and plenty of space to work on homework and school projects. In the middle of the children’s room is a welcoming storytime area with ample space and furnishings to share stories. The room also features whimsical light fixtures and 16-foot-tall windows that make the space bright and cheerful.

Internet Services This location offers library customers up to 2 hours of computer use per day. Unlimited WiFi is available for laptop & mobile devices. The library provides the ability to print from the public computers via SAM (Smart Access Manager), iPads are available for check out. You may maintain up to a $10.00 balance on your SAM account. Black and white printing is $0.15 per page. Color printing is $0.25 per page.
