This plaque dedicated to RB Hunter is located in front of the Port Hope Municipal Building Offices at 4250 N Lakeshore Rd, Port Hope, MI 48468. It is a dark brown plaque with gold lettering and trim that reads:

Obituary:
RB Hunter age 90 of Port Hope passed away Friday, September 3, 2004 in the Harbor Beach Community Hospital.Born in Kinde, Michigan on October 11, 1913, he is the son of the late James and May (Temple) Hunter. He was a graduate of the Kinde High School and attended Huron County Norman School in Bad Axe.RB began working for the Brinker Lumber Company in Kinde in 1933, and was sent to manage the Brinker Lumber yard in Port Hope in 1935. He purchased the Reidel Lumber Co. in Harbor Beach in 1960 and operated it as the Hunter Lumber Co. until he sold the business in 2003.RB served a long and distinguished civil servant career as being the mayor of the village of Port Hope for 52 years and was its Fire Chief. In appreciation of his unselfish service to the community, the Village of Port Hope dedicated their new Village Offices and Fire Hall to RB in 2000. He was a charter member and long time active member of the board of the Eastern Huron Ambulance Service based in Harbor Beach. He also was a member of the United Methodist Church in Port Hope, the Port Hope Chamber of Commerce and the Thumb Area Antique Automobile Club of which he enjoyed his antique Ford cars and trucks. He married Gladys Classen of Canton, Ohio in 1942 - RB Hunter
