"Overlook Deck" is part of the Rotary Nature Trail at North Woods. It was sponsored by Backyard Fences and Decks, and by Holy Redeemer Church. The wood deck has three benches for seating, and overlooks a shallow valley teeming with wildlife.
This is an ideal location to sit and watch and listen for the many birds that inhabit these woods. A nearby sign aids in identifying the birds that you might see here. Among those mentioned are the Wood THrush, Carolina Chickadee, and Baltimore Oriole. A sign a short distance away names seven different species of woodpecker that inhabits these woods. Alas the signs can aid you with visual identifcation only. For bird calls you are on your own.
