Robert Burns (1759-1796) was a national poet of Scotland. This sculpture is a cast of the Robert Burns sculpture by George Anderson Lawson that is located at Ayr, Scotland (Burns' birthplace), and was unveiled in 1891. This cast was erected by Detroit's Burns Club and the Jean Armour Club (Ladies Auxiliary Club). The sculpture was dedicated 1921 with a parade led by Walter Scott, a descendent of Scottish writer Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832). --
