This fort covers an impressive area. Its construction started around 1670 but it was never finished. Some sources say that the early death of Pari Bibi, daughter of the governor Shaista Khan shocked her father so much that he decided to stop the works and just added the tomb of the girl to the grounds of the fort. Other sources say that prince Muhammad Azam Shah, who was supposed to marry with Pari Bibi, was called by his father and that sealed the fate of the fort.

The walls form a large rectangle (320m x 180m) and inside there are a few key elements: the mosque, the tomb of Pari Bibi, the south gate and Diwan-i-Aam.

There is an excellent Wikipedia article about the fort which is reccomended: (visit link)
