ERB. A.D. MCMIV

KRAHVLETZ-MVSEVM

The Krahuletz Museum is located on Krahuletzplatz in Eggenburg. The year of construction and the name of the building can be read in large letters on the front facade:

Built A.D. MCMIV

KRAHVLETZ-MVSEVM

The museum was built in 1901 - 1904 according to the plans of the architect Richard Jordan. "The name of the museum goes back to the collector and researcher Johann Krahuletz (1848-1928). The later professor of geology laid the foundation for the unique collection of geological, archaeological and folkloric finds, which has already taken many visitors on a journey through time.

Here you can experience a billion years of earth history - from the high mountains to the Eggenburg Sea to the cold steppe of the Ice Age (minerals, rocks & fossils).
Africa - cradle of mankind, history of human development and 30,000 years of cultural history - archaeology of the stone and metal ages. Folklore collection with rural material culture, extensive clock collection and art cabinet."
