[FR] Convertie en prison après l’incendie qui ravage le château en 1775, la Mal Coiffée fait office de prison allemande du 19 juin 1940 au 25 août 1944. Des milliers de résistants et de juifs y seront détenus. À la Libération, la tour demeure une prison jusqu’en 1984, date de l’ouverture du centre pénitentiaire d’Yzeure. Aujourd’hui, le Département de l’Allier engage un projet de réhabilitation de la Mal Coiffée et souhaite y créer « un pôle dédié aux Bourbon », faisant craindre que ne disparaisse la mémoire des résistants qui y ont été internés, torturés puis déportés vers les camps de concentration et d’extermination nazis. Un Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation y aurait trouvé là une place toute légitime. Peut-être n’est-il pas trop tard encore pour l’envisager…
