The Rotolactor is an historical, innovative dairy where 50 cows could be milked at the same time.

Here you can view the remains of an innovative dairy which was able to process milking very quickly and at lower cost. Cows entered the circular building and were milked as the platform rotated. One revolution was enough to milk each cow.

It was an innovation of Camden Park, the descendants of the Macarthur Family who owned the large estate.

In the 1950s and 1960s, it was a popular tourist trip with up to 2,00 visitors each week.

Located next to Menangle Station, speedy delivery of the milk was assured.

The Rotolactor was first closed in 1977 and later reopened. It finally closed in 1983. Periodically, announcements are made about reopening the building as a tourist attraction.
