Earnest Tubb was born in the small community of Crisp, TX and this plaque is a memorial to the man who is the most famous person to be from Crisp. Crisp, Texas is a small village near Ennis, Texas and Waxahachie, Texas, located southeast of Dallas, Texas. Crisp, TX is in Ellis County.
This citizen memorial to Ernest Tubb is a large metal plaque just inside a barbed wire fence at 8339 FM 660, Crisp, TX. The marker is facing toward FM 660 and is just yards east of the junction of Emil Lane with FM 660, and on the North side of the road. The highway splits just yards past this marker, where FM 660 makes a turn to the North and Union Hill Road forms a junction with FM 660 at the bend.

Ernest Tubb is one of the premier county music singers and composers. His band, The Texas Troubadours" and he began his singing career in the early 1940's and made many hit songs still sung today as classic western music today. He was inducted into the County Music Hall of Fame.
