[FR] L'église actuelle remonte au XIIe siècle, sans doute bâtie à l'emplacement d'un édifice antérieur, et faisait partie des possessions de l'abbaye de Saint-Martin de Plaimpied. Elle présente un plan très fréquent en Bas Berry, à savoir une croix latine avec trois absides orientées ouvrant sur le transept. Aujourd'hui ne subsiste intacte de cette période que l'abside centrale. La toiture est en partie couverte de tuiles semi-cylindriques qui constituent une rareté dans le pays. Le reste a été rebâti à une époque sensiblement postérieure. La porte d'entrée ouvrant dans le pignon oriental, en tiers point, peut dater du XIVe siècle. Il existait sur la croisée du transept un clocher en pierre qui, en s'écroulant à une époque indéterminée, aurait entraîné la chute de la toiture de la nef. La chapelle Saint-Roch a été refaite suite à cet accident. La toiture de la nef a été surhaussée. Un nouveau clocher en bois a été bâti sur ce toit, détruit pendant la Révolution, et remplacé par le clocheton actuel.

[EN] The present church dates back to the 12th century, probably built on the site of an earlier building, and was part of the possessions of the abbey of Saint-Martin de Plaimpied. It has a very frequent plan in Bas Berry, that is to say a Latin cross with three oriented apses opening on the transept. Today only the central apse remains intact from this period. The roof of the nave was raised. A new wooden bell tower was built on this roof, destroyed during the Revolution, and replaced by the current bell tower.
