Fohr is a traditional brewery in the Westerwald, an area in the west of Germany. The brewery has started in 1676 in Ransbach by Jakob Foehr. In 1864 the brewery started to move to the place where it is today. The new location has finished to be build in 1890 by completing the brewhouse.

The beer made here is served in local pubs and restaurants. This brewery is still independant and has not became part of one of the leading concerns. The brewery is, like many breweries in the West of Germany, specialized in making beer in the style of Pils. They also make Bavarian Weizen-Bier and a type which is named after the year Fohr has been founded: 1676 Special.
