This road side scenic pull out is on the north side of Highway 412, four miles east of the ghost town of Abbott. While the rest area is named for the "Point of Rocks" way station on the Santa Fe Trail, a second marker points out the scenic view of the Rocky Mountains to the northeast. There is plenty of room here to park, stretch your legs, walk the dog, and rest at one of the shelters.
