The Wooden Figurative Sculpture is mounted on a 'springboard' that is braced against the telegraph pole. This is about two-thirds of life-size and is mounted a couple of metres above the ground, like a timber getter would have used about 100 years ago. It is truly life-like to historic photos - tho the axe is chained to the pole. There was no plaque to explain who or when it was sculpted.
