"Omschrijving onderdeel 4. Stalgebouw.
STALGEBOUW. Aan het voorplein bevinden zich twee vrijwel symmetrisch geplaatste nutsgebouwen waarvan het westelijk stalgebouw de tuig- en poetskamer, het koetshuis en de paardenstal herbergt. Het op C-vormige grondslag opgetrokken bakstenen bouwhuis bestaat uit één bouwlaag onder een met grijze oud Hollandse pannen bedekt zadeldak met dakkapellen. Vermoedelijk is dit bouwhuis vóór 1652 gebouwd, want het staat op de tekening (1652) van Nicolaas van Geelkercken. De huidige vorm heeft het gebouw in ieder geval sinds 1743, aangezien op een tekening van Jan de Beijer al heel duidelijk de C-vormige grondslag te herkennen is. De voorgevel (oost) is opgebouwd uit onregelmatig metselwerk en bevat twintig traveeën waaronder een toegangsdeur met bovenlicht, een dubbele inrijdeur en een staldeur met bovenlicht en verder houten kruiskozijnen op onregelmatige afstand van elkaar met halve luiken. In het dakschild zes dakkapellen bekroond door een driehoekig fronton. De westgevel is onregelmatig met meerruits draaivensters en schuifdeuren om de paarden naar buiten te leiden, waarvoor een plankier is teruggebracht (1996). Ook hier onregelmatig metselwerk. De zuidelijke topgevel heeft een meerruits kruiskozijn en twee vensters; de noordgevel heeft een schilddak en een meerruitsvenster. Voor de zuidgevel ligt net zoals bij het oostelijk bouwhuis een laag rechthoekig bastion met buxusaanleg bereikbaar via een hardstenen trapje. Van de loopbrug tussen het bastion en de tuin zijn alleen de aanzetten nog aanwezig. Oorspronkelijk 19de-eeuws interieur van de verschillende ruimtes in het stalgebouw.

STALGEBOUW behorend tot de historische buitenplaats Middachten van algemeen belang:
- vanwege de ouderdom
- vanwege de architectonische vormgeving
- als karakteristiek en functioneel onderdeel van de buitenplaats
- vanwege de functioneel-ruimtelijke samenhang met de andere onderdelen van de buitenplaats."

"Description part 4. Stable building.
STABLE BUILDING. On the forecourt are two almost symmetrically placed utility buildings, the western stable building houses the tack and cleaning room, the coach house and the horse stable. The brick house, built on a C-shaped foundation, consists of one storey under a gable roof with dormer windows covered with gray old Dutch tiles. This house was probably built before 1652, because it is shown on the drawing (1652) by Nicolaas van Geelkercken. The building has had its current shape since at least 1743, as the C-shaped foundation can already be clearly recognized on a drawing by Jan de Beijer. The front facade (east) is made of irregular masonry and contains twenty bays including an entrance door with fanlight, a double drive-in door and a stable door with fanlight and further wooden cross frames at irregular distances from each other with half shutters. Six dormer windows in the eaves are crowned by a triangular pediment. The west facade is irregular with multi-pane pivot windows and sliding doors to lead the horses outside, for which a platform has been reduced (1996). Here too irregular masonry. The southern gable end has a multi-pane cross frame and two windows; the north facade has a hipped roof and a multi-pane window. In front of the south facade, just like at the eastern building, there is a low rectangular bastion with boxwood construction, accessible via a hard stone staircase. Only the beginnings of the footbridge between the bastion and the garden are still there. Original 19th century interior of the various rooms in the stable building.
