Macedonia Baptist Church and Cemetery is on the north side of Highway 79, just west of Carthage. The Church was established in 1845, pastored by Lemuel Herrin. A stone monument in front of the Church commemorates that founding. The "Old" church burned in about 1880, and the "New" church was constructed at this location. At some later time that church building was replaced by the modern structure that stands here now. A graveyard with perhaps three hundred and forty monuments is behind the Church.
