OOSTELIJK BOUWHUIS. Aan het voorplein bevinden zich twee vrijwel symmetrisch geplaatste nutsgebouwen waarvan het 16de-eeuwse bouwhuis aan de oostzijde als woonhuis in gebruik is. Het op rechthoekige grondslag opgetrokken bakstenen bouwhuis bestaat uit één bouwlaag onder een met grijze oud Hollandse pannen gedekt zadeldak met een schoorsteen op de nokeinde en drie dakkapellen die bekroond worden door driehoekige frontons. Het gebouw heeft twee topgevels met schouderstukken. In de westgevel is een reliëfsteen aangebracht met daarop de alliantiewapens van Van Middachten en Van Visbeeck en de inscriptie 'An. Dni. 1579 is dit huys ghebout want elck huiis wort van iiemant getimmert maer diet alle gheschape hef dat is godt'. Het is niet duidelijk of het jaartal verwijst naar de bouw of de herbouw. In 1920 is aan de noordzijde een garage ingebouwd, waarvan de toegangspoort zich aan de westkant bevindt. In de westgevel van het bouwhuis bevinden zich op onregelmatige afstand van elkaar meerruitsvensters met draairamen en luiken en drie deuren. De oostgevel wordt geleed door zes steunberen en kent een vrij regelmatige indeling van negen meerruits draaivensters met halve luiken (ca. 1970) en vier dakkapellen. In het muurwerk zijn muurankers opgenomen, die zich overigens op alle gevels van dit bouwhuis bevinden. In de zijgevels (noord en zuid) van het huis bevinden zich meerruits kloostervensters en meerruitsvensters met draairamen en halve luiken. In de top is een klok aangebracht waarvan de bel zich boven op het dak bevindt. Voor de zuidgevel ligt een laag rechthoekig bastion met buxusaanleg bereikbaar via een hardstenen trapje. Het bastion staat op de tekening van Van Geelkercken (1652). Een oorspronkelijk 19de-eeuws houten loopbruggetje met smeedijzeren balustrade uit de tweede helft van de 20ste eeuw vormt de verbinding met het bastion en de tuin.

OOSTELIJK BOUWHUIS behorend tot de historische buitenplaats Middachten is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege de ouderdom
- vanwege de architectonische vormgeving
- als karakteristiek en functioneel onderdeel van de buitenplaats
- vanwege de functioneel-ruimtelijke samenhang met de andere onderdelen van de buitenplaats."

"Description part 3. Eastern construction house.
EAST BUILDING HOUSE. On the forecourt are two almost symmetrically placed utility buildings, of which the 16th-century building on the east side is used as a residence. The brick house, built on a rectangular foundation, consists of one storey under a gable roof covered with gray old Dutch tiles, with a chimney on the ridge end and three dormer windows topped by triangular pediments. The building has two gable ends with shoulder pieces. In the west facade is a relief stone with the alliance arms of Van Middachten and Van Visbeeck and the inscription 'An. Dni. 1579 this house is ghebout because each house is carpentered by iiemant maer diet alle gheschape hef that is godt'. It is not clear whether the year refers to the construction or the rebuilding. A garage was built in 1920 on the north side, the entrance gate of which is on the west side. In the west facade of the building house there are multi-pane windows with turn windows and shutters and three doors at an irregular distance from each other. The east facade is articulated by six buttresses and has a fairly regular layout of nine multi-pane revolving windows with half shutters (ca. 1970) and four dormer windows. Wall anchors are included in the masonry, which are located on all facades of this building. In the side walls (north and south) of the house there are multi-pane cloister windows and multi-pane windows with casement windows and half shutters. A clock has been installed in the top, the bell of which is located on top of the roof. In front of the south facade is a low rectangular bastion with boxwood construction, accessible via a hard stone staircase. The bastion is on the drawing by Van Geelkercken (1652). An original 19th century wooden walkway with wrought iron balustrade from the second half of the 20th century connects the bastion and the garden.

EAST BUILDING HOUSE belonging to the historic country estate of Middachten is of general interest:
- because of old age
- because of the architectural design
- as a characteristic and functional part of the country estate
- because of the functional-spatial cohesion with the other parts of the country estate."
