This WoW tombstone marks the grave of Jack W. Davenport, son of local pioneer William Davenport, for whom is cemetery is named.

The tombstone reads as follows:

Nov. 26, 1871
Died
Dec. 21, 1912"

Jack Davenport is buried next to his son Willie, who was named for Jack's father and died at the age of 7 months.

"San Antonio Light
December 22, 1913

J. W. Davenport, 41 years old, died at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at his home near Bracken, Bexar county. He was born on the Davenport ranch, where he died. Surviving are his widow, his mother, five children, three sisters, Mrs. J. B. Kincaid of Sabinal, Mrs. John A. Miller of Bandera and Mrs. S. G. Bechtel of San Antonio, and two brothers, J. E. Davenport of San Antonio and John Davenport of Center Point. The funeral was held from the residence at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon under the auspices of the Woodmen of the World. Rev. T. V. Neal, pastor of Prospect Hill Baptist Church, officiated."
