Roundhay Park is one of the biggest city parks in Europe and was purchased by the city of Leeds in 1872. it was formerly a private estate owned by the Nicholson family.
It covers more than 700 acres and one small part is known as Canal Gardens. These gardens feature a long rectangular lake 350 feet (107 m) by 34 feet (10 m) which uses the historical term "canal" for such a garden feature.
The pub is a large building from the 1930s set back from the road, whilst the pub sign is next to the pavement.
