El Busto de Trinidad Arroyo, consta de un pedestal de granito rojizo, con una inscripción en el mismo que pone: In Memoriam, Trinidad Arroyo (Palencia 1872- México 1959) Alumna y Benefactora del Instituto Jorge Manrique.
Sobre este pedestal está el busto fundido en bronce que representa a Trinidad Arroyo, que fue alumna del llamado instituto viejo y benefactora del mismo al donar una cantidad importante de dinero para la concesión de becas a alumnos con pocos recursos. El monumento se instaló el 24 de noviembre de 2010 en el marco de un homenaje que el instituto rindió a Trinidad Arroyo, que incluyó el depósito de sus cenizas y las de su marido, Manuel Márquez, en el panteón familiar del cementerio de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, a donde llegaron desde Méjico.
El autor de la obra es el escultor Rafael Cordero, que también es profesor del centro.
Trinidad Arroyo Villaverde (Palencia, 26 de mayo de 1872 - Ciudad de México, 28 de septiembre de 1959) fue una intelectual y médico española. Fue la primera mujer que obtuvo la licenciatura en Medicina en la Universidad de Valladolid en 1895 y primera mujer doctorada en oftalmología y otología en España, obteniendo un sobresaliente en su tesis doctoral: "Los músculos internos del ojo en su estado normal y patológico".
Es probable que fuera la primera mujer en ejercer el derecho al voto en unas elecciones generales en España, el 24 de abril de 1916. El sufragio femenino no se aprobó en este país hasta 1933.
Al estallar la Guerra Civil española, y debido a su talante y defensa pública del republicanismo, el matrimonio decidió exiliarse.
