The entrance gate at the coordinates of 29.39024 -98.55240 may be the easiest point of entry to use in getting to this Woodmen Circle monument honoring the gravesite of Annie E. Ludwig. There are many gravesites in this same area of this cemetery that have the sir name of Ludwig. There is a large mausoleum within sight of this regular gravesite with the Ludwig name both outside and inside the crypt building. Interestingly, on several grave markers, there are several who have the name Annie Ludwig on them. What distinguishes one Annie from the other Annie Ludwiig is the Birth and Death dates. Some have a middle initial that also aids in differentiating one Annie from the other.
The Annie E. Ludwig associated with this Woodmen Circle headstone has both the middle initial and the two critical dates to clarify who she is. She is not in the large crypt. She is buried among the rows found in the open field among the others in this cemetery.
Annie E Ludwig has a large white memorial stone that has a carved log laying across the length of the top of the memorial. When facing the front of the marker the round Woodmen Circle logo is carved to cover a portion of the bottom part of the log and a portion of the top edge of the flat front side of the marker. Below the Woodmen Circle symbol are palm leaves overlapping to form a simple wreath below the Woodmen Circle icon.
Centered around the midline of the rest of the tombstone's front are the name and dates, followed by a short comment. The text reads as follows:
Annie E. Ludwig
March 15, 1863
Jan. 7, 1919
