Blasterz actually did research on this one. the Farmers Elevator Company is the only grain elevator business in Max, North Dakota. It operates to elevators here that look like they're built about 75 years apart.

In 2020, the Farmers Elevator Company was part of a merger: (visit link)

"Shuttle grain terminal project at Ryder on schedule

RYDER – A project is on schedule at Ryder where a shuttle grain terminal with loop track is being built, according to Chris Wetzell of Agrex Inc.

Plaza-Makoti Equity Elevator merged with Max Farmers Elevator this past summer and TriGen Ag Partners LLC, a newly formed LLC, consists of Agrex Inc. of Minneapolis and the cooperative.

A building currently being built along N.D. Highway 28 near Ryder will be for storage and maintenance, said Wetzell.

TriGen Ag Partners also has released a new logo. The “Tri” represents the three counties the three elevators (Max, Plaza and Makoti) serve and the combined companies to form TriGen and the new shuttle terminal at Ryder. The “Gen” represents the heritage and successful future of the shuttle grain terminal for future generations.

Vigen Construction Inc. of East Grand Forks, Minn., is the general contractor for the project and the loop track will be built by Northern Plains Rail Co. of Fordville. Canadian Pacific Railway provides rail service to the area. Farden Construction of Maxbass did the dirt work at the site.

The train loader will be capable of loading 140 rail cars in eight to 10 hours.

The site for the shuttle grain terminal is on the west side of N.D. Highway 28 and north side of Ward County Road 22 at Ryder.

Plans are to have it in operation for the 2021 harvest."
