Hymettus is example of an early twentieth century Federation cottage built in 1867 and mostly rebuilt in 1901. The cottage features include a return verandah decorated with a cast iron lace frieze, the gable ends rendered with rising sun laths, decorative barge boards, finials, balustrading and window fretwork.
