Con toda probabilidad los primeros vidrieros que trabajaron en esta Catedral eran franceses, y centraron su labor en los huecos de las capillas de la girola. Durante el siglo XIII aparecen- varios nombres, algunos de los cuales relacionados con talleres burgaleses, traídos a León por el arquitecto Juan Pérez. Muchos se citan indirectamente, al figurar como testigos de contratos. Entre ellos, están Domingo (1214), Adam y Fernán Arnol (1263), Pedro Guillelmo (1246 y 1269). De ésta primera etapa se conservan varios paneles muy localizados y la vidriera de la "Cacería", que ocupa el quinto lugar de las altas, por el lado del evangelio. Lo restante se integra en composiciones, como ocurre con el árbol de Jesé, central del ábside, y la número treinta y uno, primera del lado del sur. También son de esta época varias rosas del rosetón del norte.
In all probability the first glassmakers who worked in this Cathedral were French, and they focused their work on the hollows of the ambulatory chapels. During the 13th century, various names appear, some of which are related to Burgos workshops, brought to León by the architect Juan Pérez. Many are subpoenaed indirectly, by appearing as contract witnesses. Among them are Domingo (1214), Adam and Fernán Arnol (1263), Pedro Guillelmo (1246 and 1269). Several very localized panels and the "Hunting" stained glass window, which occupies the fifth highest place, on the gospel side, have been preserved from this first stage. The rest is integrated into compositions, as is the case with the tree of Jesse, central to the apse, and number thirty-one, the first on the south side. Several roses from the northern rose window are also from this period.
